Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash and stars Salman Khan in the role of Colonel B. Santosh Babu. The film was earlier announced under the title Battle of Galwan before being renamed. Actress Chitrangada Singh also plays a key role in the project.

The film was initially expected to arrive in theatres earlier this year, but its release was postponed. Since then, different reports have suggested various possible release windows, while some recent reports have even indicated that the film could be pushed further. The makers, however, have not announced a new official release date, leaving fans waiting for a formal update.
