The latest episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Written Update brings a wave of emotional turbulence as family farewells take a shocking turn. As the Poddars prepare to send Maira off to New Zealand, hidden agendas and secret romances threaten to tear everyone apart.
Emotional Goodbyes and Secret Calculations
The episode kicks off with Raghav confronting Kabir, asking him what price he will take to forget Maira—whether it is a new phone, a car, or a house. Kabir firmly replies that if Raghav insists on talking like that, he will indeed need a new house because he has no intention of breaking up with Maira. Meanwhile, at the Poddar house, everyone gathers to bid a warm goodbye to Maira. Kajal gifts her a new laptop, while Manisha hands her cash, urging her to go on a shopping spree as soon as she lands in New Zealand.
When Maira asks about Abhira, Armaan tells her that she is away at work. Hearing this, Maira feels a pang of hurt, thinking that Abhira never even dropped her off at school and has now left without saying a proper goodbye. Elsewhere, Abhira is busy working at a plant, nurturing the soil while fighting back tears as she misses Maira.
She laments that she is used to staying away from Maira, worried that Maira will now hate her for sending her away without a parting meeting. Abhira consoles herself, believing that while the pain of separation is unbearable today, it will pave the way for a bright career, a fancy degree, and a secure future.
Dramatic Climax at the Temple and a Shocking Letter
Back at the Poddar household, Madhav warns Armaan and Maira that they are running late for the airport. Kaveri hands Maira a special farewell gift—a digital calendar showing 365 days. In a parallel cut, Abhira places an identical digital calendar on her desk, counting down the days until Maira returns to India next year.
The entire family comes together for a warm group hug before Maira, Armaan, and Krish leave for the airport in the car. During the ride, Krish playfully asks Armaan to lower the AC temperature, aggravating the pain in Armaan’s injured hand. Maira notices this and questions Armaan on why he refuses to apply medicine to his wound.
Before heading straight to the airport, Maira insists on visiting a temple to seek blessings for her new journey. Armaan initially hesitates but gives in to her request. Inside the temple, a group of women suddenly surround Maira, pulling her into a festive dance. Amidst the chaos, a piece of cloth flies onto Armaan’s face, and when he finally removes it, Maira has completely vanished.
Panicked, Armaan frantically searches the premises and prays to Kanha Ji to protect her. His eyes land on a man carrying a heavy gunny bag. Convinced that Maira has been abducted, Armaan tackles the man and rips open the bag, only to find temple coconuts inside. Just then, a bystander hands Armaan a mysterious letter and a cream, and the sudden shove sends Armaan crashing to the ground.
Family Clash and Accusations Over Maira’s Elopement
Meanwhile, Abhira returns to the Poddar house, where Vidya immediately taunts her upon seeing her injured hand. Although Kaveri tells Vidya to stay quiet, Vidya insists that both Armaan and Abhira are entirely responsible for the current chaos.
A battered and injured Armaan suddenly stumbles back into the house and hands Abhira the letter. After reading it, a stunned Abhira announces to everyone that Maira has run away with Kabir.
Almost immediately, Raghav, Damani, and his brother arrive at the Poddar house, demanding to know Kabir’s whereabouts. When Krish tells them to leave, the Damanis accuse Maira of abducting Kabir. The Poddars counter that Kabir was admitted to the hospital, but Raghav retorts that no one kept a proper eye on him, insisting that Maira orchestrated the whole escape.
As the argument escalates, the families are left pointing fingers at one another. In the upcoming precap, Abhira tells Madhav that she and Maira are no longer related and no one will go looking for her, just as Armaan suddenly collapses due to worsening health, and both families manage to trace the auto carrying Kabir and Maira.
