The domestic box office trajectory for content-driven Hindi cinema has become incredibly challenging, and the latest theatrical release from powerhouse performer Kangana Ranaut is facing the harsh reality of modern audience footfalls. Directed by Manoj Tapadia and co-produced under the actress’s home banner Manikarnika Films, the real-life survival drama Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata has found it exceptionally difficult to sustain momentum as it navigates its crucial first working week. Despite a deeply emotional and noble premise centered around the heroic efforts of brave healthcare workers at Mumbai’s Cama Hospital during the tragic 2008 terror attacks, the movie has unfortunately failed to resonate with a wider theatrical audience. On its fifth day at the ticket windows, which happened to be a critical working Tuesday, the film witnessed a major slump in public attendance, managing to register a modest net collection of just fifty-two lakh rupees across the nation. This latest single-day intake brings the total five-day domestic net collections of the hard-hitting thriller to approximately five crore forty-two lakh rupees, a commercial performance that falls significantly short of expectations for a project spearheaded by a National Film Award-winning star. Trade analysis reports indicate that the movie recorded a low overall theater occupancy rate of thirteen point four four percent on Tuesday, operating across one thousand six hundred ninety-three scheduled nationwide shows. The box office journey had originally kicked off on an underwhelming note on Friday with an initial opening collection of one crore rupees, though it managed to show a slight glimmer of hope over the weekend by picking up one crore forty-five lakh rupees on Saturday and an improved one crore eighty lakh rupees on Sunday. However, the standard working-day drop hit the production hard on Monday when earnings plummeted sharply to sixty-five lakh rupees, a downward slide that worsened on Tuesday and effectively narrowed down its prospects of hitting a double-digit lifetime total. The box office struggle of Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata becomes even more evident when compared to the commercial performance of Kangana Ranaut’s previous cinematic outings and concurrent box office rivals. Trade websites note that the current collection is lagging heavily behind her 2025 biographical drama Emergency, which had successfully accumulated a far superior twelve crore forty lakh rupees net within its initial five days of theatrical release. Even though the current numbers are marginally better than her 2023 aerial action film Tejas, which only gathered four crore sixty-five lakh rupees in a similar time frame, the film is losing significant ground to major competing titles in cinema halls. Fellow releases like Imtiaz Ali’s partition drama Main Vaapas Aaunga and Vikram Bhatt’s horror thriller Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past are currently holding much firmer weekday trends, leaving limited operational space for the Manoj Tapadia directorial despite the project receiving a major promotional push and being declared entirely tax-free by state governments in Haryana and Delhi.
