The box office journey for the newly released biographical drama Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata has hit a crucial speed bump as the movie faced the dreaded first Monday test in theatres. Directed by Manoj Tapadia and starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, the film is deeply rooted in true events surrounding the tragic 2008 Mumbai 26/11 terror attacks, specifically highlighting the immense bravery of the medical staff at Cama Hospital. Despite carrying an emotionally heavy and inspiring real-life theme, the project has struggled to maintain structural momentum since its theatrical launch. After experiencing a minor weekend spike in ticket sales, the theatrical earnings slowed down drastically on day four, slipping below the coveted one crore mark and bringing the overall net collection close to the four crore threshold at the domestic box office. Trade analysts note that while a dip is entirely natural during weekdays, a sharp plunge like this poses a serious threat to the overall financial recovery and longevity of the film.

According to early trade estimates, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata managed to bring in only around sixty-five lakh rupees net across nearly nineteen hundred shows on its first Monday. This figure marks a steep and concerning drop of roughly sixty-four percent from its peak Sunday haul of one crore eighty lakh rupees, confirming that the initial weekend curiosity did not translate into strong weekday retention. The film began its box office journey on Friday with a quiet opening of one crore rupees, followed by a slight improvement on Saturday with one crore forty-five lakh rupees, before hitting its highest single-day mark on Sunday. While the movie has performed marginally better than some of Ranaut’s older releases like Tejas, it is lagging far behind her previous directorial project Emergency, which had managed to secure double-digit earnings within its first four days. Currently, the total net collection for the drama stands at an estimated four crore ninety lakh rupees, with the gross domestic numbers crawling just past the five and a half crore mark.

The theatrical road ahead looks incredibly steep for the movie as it faces intense competition from multiple films that were released simultaneously. Rival projects like Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga, starring Diljit Dosanjh, and the horror thriller Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past have both managed to secure a much stronger hold on the public, pulling comfortably ahead in the box office race. Even though states like Haryana recently declared Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata tax-free to encourage larger audiences to witness the heroic story of nurse Anjali Kulthe saving pregnant women during the crisis, the political support has not successfully boosted theatrical occupancy, which hovered around a low eleven percent on Monday. As the film moves deeper into the working week, its inability to maintain a stable grip on multiplexes and single screens suggests that the coming days will be highly critical in determining whether this real-life heroic saga can find enough footing to survive until the next weekend.
